Frequently Asked Questions
General FAQ's
Why should I use a travel agent instead of booking directly online?
Contrary to popular belief, using a travel agent can often be more cost-effective than booking online. Travel agents have access to exclusive deals and discounts that may not be available to the general public. They can also negotiate on your behalf to get you the best prices and upgrades. Their expert advice is also invaluable if something goes wrong.
What are your fees?
When you book, there are not fees. We work on a commission basis. There may be administrative fees for amendments or cancellations, but these are fully detailed in our booking Terms & Conditions.
Do you specialise in any particular destinations or types of travel?
Novium Travel are specialists in Luxury Travel and also North and Latin America Travel. That said, we can consider any destination and non-luxury bookings. Please let us know your requirements when you enquire.
How do I get started with planning my trip with you?
Just talk to us! We are available on the phone, or we can discuss via email if you would prefer.
Do you offer travel insurance?
We do not offer our own travel insurance, but we have partnered with award winning Just Travel Cover to find you the best insurance to suit your needs. What is your cancellation policy?
We understand circumstances may change and you may cancel your booking any time. However, we do incur costs when making bookings and therefore cancellation charges may apply. Please do head to our cancellation pages for full details of cancellations costs.
Do you offer emergency assistance while I'm traveling?
Absolutely! Your safety is our highest priority, and we are always on hand should you have an emergency whilst travelling. Either directly with ourselves or with your principal supplier/tour operator.
Are you accessible for travellers with disabilities?
We do have facilities with all suppliers who can offer more accessible holidays and travel. Please do let us know about any needs you may have when making an enquiry.
Booking & Payment FAQs
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa or Mastercard debit or credit cards, or payment by bank transfer.
Can I make changes to my itinerary after I book it?
Of course. Changes can be made, but please do refer to the booking terms and conditions for details of any fees – our own administration fee will be £50 in addition to any fees charged by the suppliers, and any cost difference for the actual change.
What happens if my flight is cancelled or delayed?
If your flight is cancelled and you’ve booked a package holiday, you have the same rights as any other passenger to rerouting, refunds and potentially compensation from the airline, but you also have additional rights regarding the rest of your holiday. We will contact you in advance to re-arrange your flights, however, if you’re at the airport when the flight is cancelled you should contact us as soon as possible to discuss your options. If your flight can’t be rearranged and your holiday has to be cancelled, or new arrangements are made that result in a significant change to your holiday, then we may, if possible, offer a suitable alternative, or a refund of the full package price.
What kind of documentation do I need to travel to my chosen destination?
This will depend on your chosen destination entry requirements. Although we can give best advice, we do ask that you understand local entry requirements and ensure you have the correct documentation, including any visas, to enter the country where you are travelling to.
Do you handle visa applications?
No. Although, again, we can give best advice on where to obtain current advice. It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct visa requirements for your chosen destination.
Destination & Planning FAQs
What are your recommendations for safe travel?
We always follow the UK Government FCDO (Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office) advice on the destinations we book. We recommend that you familiarise yourself with the specific FCDO advice for your destination. We also advise you to ensure you check any medical advice, such as any vaccination or medication recommendations or requirements. In all cases we recommend the following – do your research, don’t draw attention, make copies of important documents, keep your friends and family updated, be wary of public Wi-Fi, safeguard your hotel room and finally, be aware of your surroundings.
Can you give us destination advice and help in planning activities?
Yes. When you initially contact us to discuss any destination, please do ask us about aspects such as:
- When are the best times of year to visit?
- What are the must-see attractions and activities?
- What is the local currency and what is the exchange rate?
